A two-part highly complex ammonia refrigeration plant has been installed as an energy hub. The main purpose of this plant is to cool the two ice rinks. In addition to ice production, the refrigeration plant also supplies the stadium with heat, air conditioning and dehumidification. The stadium is thus supplied with heat and cold exclusively by this plant.
The entire refrigeration technology was built by EWZ as contracting. The additionally produced district cooling is offered to third parties. The surplus waste heat not required internally is fed into the anergy network and serves as an energy source for the local heating network.
